TA Evaluations and Tools

Technical-Assistance

Please help me understand the intent of the TA Evaluations feature. Is this intended for QRIS evaluation tools such as the Environmental Rating Scales? A related question is what is the intention of the evaluation tools, as I see that 155 tools are listed. Should these be validated and reliable tools, or are they meant to include home-grown evalutaion tools? Lastly, how would I add an evaluation tool to the TA module?

ANSWER

Yes, the intention of the Evaluation Tool is to allow agencies to upload "home-grown" tools as well as nationally recognized validated and reliable tools such as the Environmental Rating Scale. Once uploaded, the TA Specialist has access to the tools associated with a named Initiative. This allows them to download copies as they are providing TA to a Project, assuming they have access to the Internet.

Completed evaluations can then be uploaded as Attachments in the Project.

To add a new TA Evaluation Tool, navigate to Data Entry > TA Management > Initiatives and open any existing Initiative or create a new one. In the Initiative record is a page for TA Evaluation Tools and a "Add New TA Evaluation Tool" link.

The 155 tools you see uploaded already are mostly ones the NDS team has uploaded as samples. These will be removed.
