NDS Emergency Outage - Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 8:15pm ET

Dear NDS Users,

Today around 8pm ET, we will bring down our NDS services to handle a pending failure with a battery backup system supplying power to some of our primary NDS systems. This failure was unexpected. We have taken this action immediately to reduce further down time for our customers.

We expect this outage to last no more than 60 minutes. We will post updates as progress is made to restore services.

This outage affects all NDS services including:

NACCRRAware (NW) Online Referral Module (aka IMM) (ORM) Online Provider Services Module (OPS) Child Care Online (CCO) Training and Technical Assistance Module (TTAM) Training Registry (TR)

We have also sent an announcement via e-mail to all NDS Users and Administrators on this issue. Please return to this page for frequent updates on the situation until it is resolved.

We appreciate everyone's patience as we quickly work to resolve the issues.

We have decided to delay shutdown by 15 mins now. We will bring down services at 8:35pm ET as the alert via e-mail did not go out to our users until 8:20pm ET.

For those technical folks, we have switched out 24 power outlets serving 16 different server power supplies. We have completed about half of the switch over now.

Temporary battery backup system in place for the meantime. We will start the process to bring services back up. The primary database server was never down during this process. No data was lost due to the power changeover. However, data could be lost by users not aware of our emergency action this evening.

Ok. All NDS Services are reporting back up and running again. Users may return to the the use of NDS services.
